Haha, trust me, you don't want pics of what's in the lab right now. Pieces broken off, one of them we snapped a front panel (prototype plastics are very cheap), another one is dented to hell because it must have been shipped by catapult.

But when we have the new stuff done, we'll take some professional pics and put them up on the website and announce it. We've got a LOT of cases in development. Last year, we developed:
* 600T White
* 650D
* 500R White
* 500R
* 400R
* 300R
* 550D

This year, it'd be nice to be able to beat that. smile.gif

If you guys could make an improved variation of the 650D I would so love it!

Here are some ideas to throw your way...
  • Airflow needs improvement, though I like the side window....Maybe add more mesh holes in the back next to the PCI slots?
  • Mesh size needs to be adjusted, make wider holes and thinner mesh. The air passing though is too loud, especially in the front and top...maybe take the mesh off the completely and leave open holes with fan grills? biggrin.gif
  • The front fan spacing b/w the HDD bays needs a few more mm to fit a 30mm thick fan! Please? lol
  • The HDD cages get barely any air flow somehow...my HAF had better air flow though the HDD bays. Maybe make the holes in the bays more open and free flowing?
  • Maybe make the back behind the mobo have more spacing too, it is a little cramped for wire management. A few mm would do nicely.
  • And of course the commonly asked for USB 3.0 cable adapter to mobo header included. tongue.gif
  • I like the side panel quick release tabs, but I have seen the 1 button back button too, maybe integrate that instead?
  • I love the hotswap bay personally, but maybe integrate it better in the case somehow?
  • Two SSD slots in back somehow (like a separate connection like the hotswap bay is on the top, but integrated in the back panel)
  • Ditch the fan controller...it is crap, sorry but in my use it is. redface.gif

Otherwise the case is very nice and I like mine smile.gif

Yes, I absolutely love my 650D, but there are some things that just drive me insane. Primarily the loud noise of the front intake fan, the fact that it can't accomodate a 30mm wide fan without moving the hard drive cages, and the fact that there is only mounting options for the 200mm. Other than that, fantastic case.

Hrmm, I notice these are all ATX cases. Are you reserving XL and HPTX cases for 2012?

They are wrong when the say bigger is not better... very very wrong!

Ohh and these:
-Removable mobo tray
-Seperate side compartement for PSU's and option for second PSU.
-Ability to fit 180.3 / 140.4 /120.5 rads!
-Hide the HDD's in back somehow
-Four 5.25 bays is not enough (six is the minimum number in my book)
-Space for P/P setups with 38mm fans EVERYWHERE!
-Hinged doors (both sides)
-Casters (this sucker is gonna be heavy)
-Stop putting fan controllers on expensive enthusiast cases! (sorry, they aren't the best things for crazy OCN people)

I feel like homer that one time he designed that ugly green car...

I'd have to say these are all the exact issues that bug me about the 650D.
-Front fan noise issue (which to Corsair's side, did send out replacement fan controller kits and rubber screw thingies)
-Front fan customization is lacking (30mm doesn't fit w/o moving bay, can't convert to 2x120 or 2x140)
-Front metal grill under the front filter seems a bit excessive. I don't have my own numbers to prove the airflow is obstructed, but I have read some peoples temps dropped a bit when dremelling it out.

I fixed the front fan issue with a new fan and moving the HDD bay, however I wish there were better options up front.

It could be my GPU fan system (twin frozer II) that throws the hot air around my case a bit, but I notice my CPU temps indicate low air flow up top. I wish Corsair had a 3x5.25 bay adapter to fit a 120mm fan... I would love to have a matching fan adapter for the bay to improve airflow across my RAM, mobo, and ultimately the H70 exhausting out the back. George, you should look into this!!!!!! As it would be usable in many of the new chassis I am sure! I will bet a fair amount of people would love to improve the airflow up top in some of the newer cases.

Overall, it seems some of the "drawbacks" (Hard to say that since I love this case) have been addressed in newer models of the Carbide series, etc. However, little things like the 3x5.25 bay adapter for 120mm fan etc could really help to keep me with this 650D for a while.

Keep up the good work Corsair! (George) The 300R looks awesome

The 650D is the only case that has gotten me to switch from my extremely old and beaten Antec P182. I think my next build will be all Corsair/Asus just because of that lol
