The front 200mm is setup for intake as well, and a single 120mm on the back as exhaust. I can feel air blowing out of the gaps and spaces in the case. Ambient temps have gone up here by about 4 degrees and the hardware temps have basically remained the same.
Overall, I am happy with the current setup. The noise on full speed is acceptable, and on low it is very quiet. I also prefer the looks of the 140's as well. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Hi there guys. I was wondering if I should cut out the top mesh and place a custom acrylic rad grill for it as it would allow me to mount a RX240. Do u guys think I should?

Just got this case and so now I have questions that most likely have been answered before, but 2500 posts is too much to look through.

1. 2x120mm or 1x200mm on top? Intake or Out?

2. Can I use a 3-pin Fan Y Splitter Cable (or whatever you call it) to make it so that the fan controller can have more than 4 fans?

3. I read something about the front 200mm non-replaceable?

4. Can I just zip tie fans to random places on case? (well not randomly, but I've seen pictures of people putting them on the hdd cage, etc.)

5. Recommend some Lighting or LEDs or something for case?

Long story short:
I bought 4 of those Gentle Typhoons 2150 in the group buy and now got to figure how where to put them.

1. Depends on your setup and what CPU cooler you're planning to use. Try both intake and exhaust and see which gives you better temps. 120 vs 200mm depends on your tolerance for noise.

2. I don't see why not but you could also get a 4-pin molex to triple 3-pin cable that would do the same thing. You can also get 7v and 5v versions.

3. The front 200mm fan can be replaced with other fans like the Cooler Master Megaflow or Bitfenix Spectre Pro. You could use the GT's up top, as rear exhaust or side fans if you get the mesh side panel insert. thumb.gif

I might just be having a mental failure, but for #2, how would that connect to the fan controller?

The fan controller "output' cables are just 4 3-pin & 1 molex. Say I want to plug in 5 fans. Physically, I know I can put a splitter into a 3 pin and plug 2 fans into 1 3pin. I was wondering if that would make everything blow up.

I was referring to connecting additional fans to one of the molex plugs from your PSU. Sorry for the confusion. I don't see any danger in adding a couple more fans to the stock controller. While known to be not the greatest after a couple weeks I'm still fine with it. thumb.gif

I'd say rather than connecting them to the built in fan controller, since it only gives you three speeds, try connecting it to a 5 fan 5.25 bay controller. That would give you better control of the fans and allow you to set the temps that the fans will react to. If the CPU is at a higher temp under load, then with that fan controller you'd have good control.

I got the impression he wanted to try the stock controller first. I'm using it for now until I can afford/need a different one. I may for simplicity sake end up connecting all my fans (all two of them, lol) with 7v resistors and remove the controller to save some cable space. thumb.gif

So I got a 120mm red LED Spectre Pro fan as my rear exhaust (so that I can in the future use the AP-15 that was there for something else).

Is it me or is it making a weird sort of noise that for me is hard to describe? Its making me have second thoughts about getting the 200mm one.

I can't comment on the 120 as I cut out my rear mesh and have no fan there. biggrin.gif I have the blue LED 200mm in front and it's nice and quiet at full speed. All I can hear from that fan is the air moving. If I put my ear a couple inches away I can hear a low hum but that's it. Easily the least noisy fan in my case.thumb.gif Keep in mind this is with the front mesh removed.
