Corsair Obsidian 650D Mid-Tower - Page 30

Gosh. I would get this case in a heart beat if it didn't have the window and those side panel opening clips. It hinders the elegance of that case, IMO. Corsair should make a 650D with solid clean side panels with nothing on them or give the option to get those side panels separately.

The clips are great. Easy to get into my case, and I actually like the window. I wish it was bigger and placed a little bettertho . I think its nice to show off all the expensive gear , especially if you water-cool.

Isn't the EK rad like 47mm though? Wouldn't that be a little bit tight? It's only about 10mm thinner than the RX. The RS is really, really thin in comparison to the RX and EK, so I'd definitely expect it to fit.

Yeah, I thought the EK was similar in thickness as the RS but if it's 47mm, I'm not really sure about it.

Can this case fit a 200mm radiator at the front where the intake fan is?

Yup. a 200mm square radiator fits there, some people have built it up. You have to move the drive trays back, though.

Any word on the 650D becoming more available with any of the tweaks being made on the fan noise/controllers issues etc? (heard a bit about them on the interwebs, however I am not 100% sure on the legitimacy) I have read through and seen a few quick fixes made, but is it possibly these issues that are leading to a full "re-launch" of the 650D so they are all on the same level? I am really excited about upgrading my case - but right now it's a race for the new Fractal Design Midi / Core 3000 and readily available and "fixed" 650D!! All the cases look great and will give me quite an improvement in cable management and air flow to my main components.

No re-launch, just a rev to indicate which one has the newer fan controller. CC650DW-1 has the newer controller and once all the CC650DW parts are sold out of the channel the -1 part will replace them. Similar to how we did a -1 on the H50 to indicate it had the new bracket set for Socket 1156 and AMD a couple years ago.

Just a rolling change.

Thanks for the quick response! That all makes sense, as I suspected. One of the sites through Amazon showed a big influx of shipment estimated around May 7th. I look forward to the inventory being more available!

You can just get the case now from a vendor that has stock and order a fan fix kit at the same time...
