Corsair Obsidian 650D Mid-Tower - Page 37

Hello CorsairGeorge, can you comment on whether the new fan controller provides full functionality for low, medium and high speeds without the buzzing/vibrations on the fans that were caused by the previous controller?

Will the fix kits yield the same results as the updated fan controller?

Thanks

In order to fit a radiator in the front of the case both drive cages need to be relocated.

As for whether the -1 provides full functionality without the buzzing, the answer is yes.

The fix kit has worked in every instance we've tested here in the labs and for the vast majority of people that have received it, but a couple of people have had some issues. I'm dealing with them directly, but yeah, the end result should be the fix kit makes the fan controller behave identically to the -1 revision.

i think some of the first fan controllers are just bad... apart from the buzzing...

Mine shows no change in the speed of the original fans or any fan i hook up to it.

Can't wait to get one that works and thanks for taking care of us!

Yeah faulkton, out of the thousands of 650Ds we've sold already, I've had two people (and you're one of them) who had a fan controller that didn't do anything at all. So I'm working that out.

I have a quick noob question about the 650D.

I'm stuck on a 700D and a 650D. I don't know which to go with because they both are awesome. I like the 650D because it's a mid and not a huge full, but the space with the 700D makes it more appealing. I plan to water cool this month with just one loop for my cpu but I might wc my gpu in the future as well. George, I know you stated that you have to remove the drive cages in order to mount a front radiator like in this example, http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=94403.

Do you have any input on water cooling inside a 650D?

It would be much less of a hassle with the 800D. You can drop a triple rad in the top with zero modification. It can be done with either case, though.

Ya idk, bad luck I guess.. Seems like others on the corsair forum might have the same problem too.

Regardless I still love the case and would still buy it again today.

Thanks for your help and great customer service

Is the front fan 200x30? Or 200x20?

I suppose it supports 200x30 fans right?

Front fans are 200x20mm, but a 25mm will fit with the hdd cage in the stock location. A 30 will also fit if you move the hdd cage to the spot behind the psu.

I really, really really want a 650D, but my Antec 900 just fits on my desk, and the 650D (according to dimensions) is 6cm longer. I'm going to have to find a way to mod this somehow. That 650D will be mine!
