Hi guys. I've been lurking in this post and have skimmed through the entire thing before I started my build. You all gave me some nice ideas. smile.gif

Sevada88 suggested I post a link to my build log over here. I just finished removing my 5 1/4" drive cage and cutting it down to 3 high instead of 4 so I can fit a 240 rad in the front. wink.gif

My Corsair 650d Build Log

You can see the progress pics on the thread, but here is the reassembled drive cage:

I would to know if the Case's USB ports can cause more input lag compared to rear motherboard ports.

if i connect my joypad or headset using case's ports, when i play in multiplayer can i see some input lag or its the same to using the mobo ports ?

I have no idea, but if you have about a day's time, I can find it out for you thumb.gif

Hello there

I literally have looked at every page of this topic over the past week to get some ideas for my 650D build.

I noticed quite a few people asking about what to do if you remove the hot swap bay and are left with a big opening, but not seeing anything, I improvised:

First I cut off the tabs that hold the hot swap assembly in place:

Then I traced and cut a piece of acrylic (10 bucks from FrozenCPU, including molding) and came up with this:

That is my water loop's fill port in the center.

I did a few other mods to the case, including a hole for the water pump to sit in, and mounting cathode switches in the front panel where the USB/1394/audio jacks used to be. I don't think I saw anyone do these so I thought I'd finally register and share. Build log at http://www.gtawh.com/forums/index.php?/topic/94-my-next-pc-build-codename-oasis/

I have a 650D myself and got a question from you guys here. So just some hours ago I was playing GTA IV after a while my monitor screen had these yellow/black horizontal lines. So I got worried started the task manger to end the game. But the screen got back to normal state. In background I was running CPUID HM looked at the GPU temps and the highest it had reached was 105C. Unfortunately wasnt running GPUZ to know the fan speed. The GPU is slightly overclock 910 Core and 1393 memory. So I was wondering if that temp is okayish? Because I never had my GPU temp that high. Got a Bitfienix 200 fan in the front, CM Sick Flow 120 fan exhaust.

AMD FX 8150 (stock clocks)
Asus Formula V mobo
16 Corsair RAM
Asus HD 6970 DUCII
Corsair Force GT 120GB
Corsair H100 push/pull with Cougar Fans
CM 1200 PSU

Have you tried playing the game with your GPU stock clocks and see if the problems persists?

Yeah just played the game again for like an 1 and kept getting average 100C temps with the card. Maybe there is something wrong with the card because room is pretty cool, cooling inside the case is good as well.
