Corsair Obsidian 650D Mid-Tower - Page 415

The stock controller on mine never gave me any problems. I ended up not wanting to use it anyway and removed it later, lol.

My stock controller worked for about 8 months or so, then gave up. I am only running 1 rear 120mm fan right now and the temps are just fine. Multi-boxing 5 instances of Warcraft and my CPU never tops 44º, the motherboard 39º and the 7970 maxes at 72º, all air cooled.

I did have 2 x 140mm up top, 1 x 120mm in the front via an Antec Nine Hundred drive cage, and the 200mm front fan. The motherboard temps are slightly warmer without those fans and the CPU/GPU are basically the same.

I might just hook the 200mm fan to a motherboard header and call it a day. I control the rear 120mm with ASUS AI Suite and it works great.

EDIT - 39º for motherboard, not 30.

We all start out by asking questions. smile.gif For about 3-4 months with three fans connected. The thing I noticed was the stock controller could never run them lower than around 70-75%. Using 7v adapters later on slowed them down to noticeably quieter levels. thumb.gif

Anyone interested in a used 650D case? The front mesh and rest is cut out already. I think I'm going to try out a MiniITX case now:p
