Corsair Obsidian 650D Mid-Tower - Page 43

I'm so tempted to buy one, I don't like the aesthetics of my older HAF 932 but I like the cooling properties.

because i get so many PM about the cooling on this case i am going to post this reply i just sent someone...

i honestly think you'll be fine as far as multi GPU setup temps. Back when i was still using the stock fans and 570 SLI my temps were fine. They were so unremarkable that i honestly cant really even remember what they were. If they were bad/hot, trust me i would remember...

I pretty much intended to replace all the fans when i bought the case, mostly because i have sort of a fan fetish. So that's what i did, although i didnt need to.

I'm not going to lie and say i don't get better temps with my set-up now, because i do, but it was certainly not necessary. The temperature benefit from changing the fans was minuscule compared to the cost of buying the fans.

Buying the fans was sort of like going with 580's in SLI. A lot of people will think it's a waste, but that's what i wanted and i'm happy with it.

Could the stock air cooling be better? Of course it could, but i doubt most people would want to pay the large cost for the nominal gains.

i think most people are going to be happy with the stock air cooling in 650d.. even with multi-gpu set ups... for the rest of us thankfully corsair gave us some options.

Well said, Faulkton.

I fully agree with you. I came from an Antec 902, which is known for great air flow and air cooling capabilities. I am experiencing only slightly higher temps in my 650D (we are talking maybe 2-3C) but they are in no way endangering my components.

You get a lot of customizability with the case in terms of fans. My only wish would be easier setup of two 120mm fans in the front. I decided on two 120mm fans for the top, and kept the 200mm in the front.

For a Mid-Tower case, you get great watercooling space. The cable management is amazing as well. You get what you pay for overall, as I have found this is to be expected with all corsair products. (PSUs, RAM, H70, and now this have all been great for me)

Overall, it worked out perfectly for me as I wanted a size boost (big for a mid-tower), great looks (imo), good watercooling options for the future, and a great company backing up its quality.

I paid $220 shipped for one of the first way back in February, and think it was well worth the extra money to get the case ASAP.

You're going to pay more if you buy it now, that's the price of being an early adopter.

I'm sure it will only get cheaper as time goes on, but only you can decide how much your time waiting for the case is worth.
