Corsair Obsidian 650D Mid-Tower - Page 431

Hi guys,

I am doing a mid tower build and wanting to use the 650d. I want to build a kickass pc, but at the moment stick to air cooling. will this case cool everything okay, if i replace all the fans, I will also be taking one of the hard drive cages out to improve airflow. I don't like the mesh side panel. I'm not doing any extreme overclocking, just building a nice system into it with some power ie 680, 3770k.. etc..

yep all my temps have been really low and im on all air with no side mess.

Kind of figure this is a crap shoot, but does anyone make an acrylic side panel for the 650D? I've seen them for the 600T so I was hoping they might be around.

Those using the Bitfenix spectre pro 200mm and Phobya Xtreme 200MM Ver 2, did the holes line up?

Yea if you replace stock fans and move/remove HDD cages your system will be fine with air cooling as long as your ambient temp isn't too high (hate you summer months). wink.gif

This is my favourite case of all time. I was continuously worried about the cooling, blah blah blah.. I kept changing my mind on whether I was going to get this case... It's not only my favourite mid tower but my favourite case. Perfect size, perfect features.. everything about the case... except the cooling frown.gif

So i decided, when Haswell comes out, I'm going to put a brand spanking new system in the 650d, get a h100, get a good graphics card and make it look sweet with sleeved cables, repplace the fans etc... and run with okay cooling.

Then a couple months down the line,( 2-3) I am going to purchase water cooling gear & another graphics card, install that into the system and enjoy a 650d with excellent cooling. I shall then close up my PC case for the next 2-3 years without spending too much money on it!

I dont want an nzxt switch 810, silly haf x or an 800d either. I am gonna pull this off ladies & gentlemen, like the many others who have done so before me, I am gonna make this sweet mid tower into a sleek, sexy, & wet beast by thrilling her with the touch of midas, the touch that comes from a well cooled machine. Then when I get adsl 2 , I am going to take over the world.
