I picked up my 650D about 2 months ago and I absolutely love it. It was a massive upgrade from my previous case. I used an Antec 902, and I see you have the 1200 so yours was full tower - but the mid tower Corsair cases are massive, so don't worry about loss of space. I wasn't a huge fan of the wire management in the 900/902/1200, the 650D destroys them in that category.

I haven't lurked enough to see if there are speculated price points of the Carbide series, but if they are cheaper I would jump on those. Personally, I wish I could have held off for the 500R. The 200mm side fan would solve the heat issues on my GPUs. (due to my PCIe lanes being so close) However, knowing the 902/1200 pretty well, I would say that any of them would be a great upgrade. If any of the features on the 400R/500R catch your eye, I'd say wait. Otherwise, the 650D is a wonderful case and I guarantee you would be satisfied.

I upgraded from an Antec 300. HUGE improvement! Also switched from a P67A-UD5-B2 to the Asus P8Z68 Deluxe. Must say I love both this case and the motherboard! I'm able to control all the fans via the mobo's fan headers, so I actually removed the corsair fan controller to minimize clutter. I also removed the front fan grill to eliminate the buzzing that everyone is complaining about.

Wonderful job with the molex cable management! I would lovvvve to do something like that with the case - allowing ample airflow from the front 200mm. However, I am running 3 HDDs (as seen in my sig rig) and plan to pick up a SSD soon as well, so I won't have enough room for all of them in the 5.25"s. I will likely stick the SSD up there though.

+rep for great idea/follow through/detailed pics!

Also on a side note for us 650D owners, this is from the Obsidian Club thread!

Great work! I am totally going to remove the front grill. Any difficulties in doing it?

What's that cpu cooler you're using?? The pump is H50, but Why the rad is as thick as H70??

Just have lots of patience. It took me a full 2 hours to do it and have it looking clean. I made the initial cut with a dremel, carefully ground it out further with a 4-1/2" grinder, used a curved file to get a nice smooth curve, and then finally a box knife or sand paper to de-bur the edges. Since this will be hidden anyway, I just used a black sharpie to color the exposed metal black.

So I settled on a stable 4.2 GHz OC with my H60..

My temps are 32*C idle and 52*C max under full load [4 hours of Prime 95, but tend to average in upper 40's for full load].. My case temp is a steady 26*C and HDDs are a steady 28*C..

I have to say the airflow is pretty good.. at least the way I have it set up.. Pics to come..

@cmeeks: I like how you removed the HDD cages and placed them in the bays instead.. I might have to steal that idea.. Do you get noticeable gain in airflow from the 200mm with that setup? Nice pics tho!

Thanks! It's hard to say as I never ran it any other way. There's certainly nothing restricting it anymore. I'm not terribly happy with the stock 200mm fans, though. I'll probably replace the front with an air penetrator or something. Eventually the top will get a dual radiator and a couple fans in pull.

One of the biggest benefits of putting the HDDs in the 5.25" bays was the hard drive silencer. I don't even know my mechanical HDD exists any more!

I'm surprised you're switching to water cooling when your H60 appears to be doing a very good job as it is. I considered the switch myself, even bought the pump, but I'll probably just end up getting the h100 or Asetek's dual rad system later this year. Even my current setup keeps temps under 75 after 8 hours of prime 95, and that's with an ambient of 26C.

Gotcha.. Yeah, the full loop will come later on, not any time soon. Right now, I'm pretty happy with the results I'm getting from the H60.
