Corsair Obsidian 650D Mid-Tower - Page 86

Is it just me or is the Coolermaster 200mm fans crap compared to the corsair stock ones? The CM ones hardly push any air using the super accurate "hold my hand in front of the fan" test wink.gif

After using both, im sticking with the corsair ones.

No controller, it's a 4-pin Molex, and it has a L-M-H setting, and I just set it to high. The top fans orientations don't really matter in my case, either way the temps are somewhat the same.

Good to know. Thanks for the input. biggrin.gif It seems I'll have more options with this case than my current PC-K62. Plus I love how it looks! It's going to be awhile before I can afford to get it though. frown.gif

i just bought this case tonight and will have a similar setup as you...and ive been very concerned about airflow and temps...i would really like to either get better temps than i do now or even better temps if possible...mind you im using a Storm Scout now and thing are cramped in there...but its using a 140 front intake, 2 120 side panel intakes, 1 140 top exhaust and push/pull on my H60 as exhaust...all noctua fans

2500k@1.36v idles in the high 20's to low 30's and loads in the low to mid 60's

R6950 idles 38-40 and loads at 58-62

really keeping those 2 things cool is my main priority when this new case comes

I use the H70 as exhaust, 2xGP ap-14s up top are exhaust, and front 200mm is intake.
@WUZAP

Is the CM fan plugged into the Corsair fan controller? It may not be running 100%, in which case it may not be pushing as much air. Technically, the CM 200mm is rated higher CFM.

@N10248 19C/66F idle is quite impressive, as that is about my house ambient temp in the fall/winter! I'm not trying to deny, but with a similar fan setup and an H70 - even with about 65-68F ambients I get about 29-32C idle on most cores. (that is with a pretty hefty OC though) Nice work on the build!!

so with that fan setup...how are your temps on idle and load?

just trying to get an idea of what i could be looking at when i get my case...so ill know if i need to order some fans or maybe move some stuff around...i already plan on removing one hdd cage and then moving the 2nd one to the bottom next to the psu to help with airflow

~70F ambients, OC on CPU, no OC on GPU (for now)

idle CPU ~29-33C
load CPU ~64-70C (2+ hours IBT or prime95)

idle GPU ~30-34C (2x1080p monitors)
load GPU ~58-62C (MSI afterburner, crazy metro2033 sequences)

Currently I have my ap-15s on the H70 around 1400rpm, and the rest are normal.

Overall, the temps are about average without any major mods or upgrades to case cooling. There is supposed to be a new side panel available in the store soon (I had heard late July-early August, but nothing since..) with some mounts for 120mm fans. I had an Antec 902 before, which had great airflow, and temps were actually a little bit lower. However, the case is just so gorgeous, easy to work with, and leaves lots of room for future upgrades.
