in my old scout...cpu would idle in the low 30's and load in games in the high 40's low 50's...with this 650D it idles about 36-38 and load in games in the low 60's...that in my opinion is a big difference with just a change of cases

and thats not even talking about my poor little gpu....it used to idle 38-40 and while browsing the net it would hit like 45 if i were watching youtube or something with a lot of flash...in crysis 2 it would load up to about 60-62....now it idles at 44-47 and hits 70 in crysis 2 on extreme graphics

so not only did this case have some defects from the factory but its a horrible air cooler at least for my build...but i sorta knew it wasnt the best for air cooling going into it...just didnt know it was that bad

i guess i just got unlucky on this case...sad really...such a beautiful case and i can see its well made (except for mine) to be such a let down

Airflow isn't that great I know what you mean my CPU and GPU's runs hotter also.

But I changed all my fans except the front fan and I modded it so it has more airflow like this:

Now i look my Obsidian 650 and my is in perfect state.
I have only one remark. Little thicker aluminium on side panel.
But case is dream. I wait almost 8 months with money in pocket to buy Obsidian 650D.

One question: 120mm Fan on back is same speed like fans on H70 or different???
But never mind i will removed that new on same place on case, and removed 200mmm on top. 2X140mm LED go on top panel. And when I buy H100 with 4x120 mm 1900RPM go on TOP.

Only aluminum on this case is the cladding on the front, the side panels are steel.

Fan on the rear is not like the fan on the H70- its slower and moves much less air, but it is much quieter.

this case sadly has some issues upon taking it out of the box....first thing is the front bezel had like 3 decent scratches in the aluminum and a couple on the drive bay doors and it also had 2 nicks on the aluminum...no idea how they got there but were there as soon as i took off the protective film...so much for it actually protecting it

so i put a ticket in with corsair to have it replaced...but the fun didnt stop there...i ended up going out and running some errands before i sat down to actually transfer parts over to it...i took off the side panels...the one with the window was in good shape...the one without a window was bent to hell...it doesnt sit flush with the front or the back and it bowed in the middle and if you press on it it makes that nice metal pop sound

so as i moved the case around to start routing the cables i noticed it wasnt sitting even on my desk...figured it was just sitting on something...checked under it...nothing...so i moved it out to the kitchen table...still wasnt sitting right...so took it back to my desk...put the side panels and front bezel back on and noticed it had a little wobble to it...the whole case is tweaked and is sitting uneven

those are just the major issues with my new 650D...there are other minor issues like how loud the front fan is or my little fan controller not fitting...but i can fix or even over look those issues...but how in the world does a case get so beat up? well ill be calling Corsair in the morning and see what they recommend i do...if i should RMA it or what

i was really looking foward to using this case...its a beautiful case and very big....just has too many issues to be considered a good quality case

TL;DL- new 650D has scratched front bezel, bent side panel and sits uneven and wobbles like a broken leg on a chair
With that much damage you should have just RMAd it back to where you purchased it from. There's no point in moving your equipment into it if it's going to have to be replaced right away. As for your temps, you can always add a few things to improve your temps. A fan above the bottom drive cage, and a fan in the upper 5 1/4" bays using a fan mount should increase your air flow. You can improve them even further if you are willing to do a more serious mod. The front and top fans can also be replaced with higher cfm fans.

That sounds a lot better. Good job.

@Anth0789

Love your build. Looks great and I bet those extra fans are helping a lot.

well the only damage i found when i first got around to building it was the front panel...didnt notice the rest till i was already building...but i have a feeling i might get the run around from the place i bought it from with having it RMA'ed...cause at this point i want a refund not just a replacement

on the temps...i got my fan controller installed finally...so i have the 2 200m hooked up to it and another fan in the 5.25 drive bay thats blowing air into the case...cpu temps have dropped a little...but gpu is still very high under load...just got finished playing 30 minutes of crysis 2 and it reached 71...its NEVER been that high even after 2 hours of crysis 2...highest ive ever seen the gpu is 62

so while i wait for the company i bought it from to get back to me with what i can do with the case...im just going to have to deal with it

if that comment was directed towards me...i havent totally given up...but im almost there after dealing with the case and then dealing with the company i bought it from...but im hopeful they will let me return it...although i talked to Corsair this morning and the nice woman there told me if i cant get anything done through the place i bought it Corsair may be able to help me

but im just not happy at all with this case...from the damage issues to the performance...its been a big let down

Thanx for answer.
Than I will remove 120mm and put on some other place.

Sorry to hear about problem with case.
My brother buy Obsidian 650D in Serbia, I think only 10 650D in our Country together with my and now can not be found. Plus online shooping for us is so hard, frustrating and risky and if something is damage probably people stop to buy Corsair because RMA is problem and his model in is perfect state to.
I know I will buy more from Corsair because they look good and quality is good.
This case stay with me forever.

changed my back fan with a cooler master sickle flow 2000rpm i had lieing around, cpu temps dropped by 3-4 degrees

the back fan is piss week, seriously, i felt my nh-d14 exhaust was being 'bottlenecked' by the stock back fan, if u get this case change the back fan is my recommendation,

also the clips that hold the side panels in place at the bottom of each panel, the paint on them is being chipped each time the panels are put back on -.-, u cant see it when panel is on, but still

I have plan for future. Noctua is bad colour. Everything will be BLACK with little RED.
In future Kama Flow 2 1900RMP I will buy 4kom for Corsair H100.
I will sell H70 and buy Corsair H100. Maybe more Kama Flow for Case but Corsair 120mm Fans from H70,H100 are good enough for case fans. I will remove only 200mm on top on front panel I will see.
And try to find way to make round tubes on H100. I don't know how and that is my advice for Corsair in future to make cooler with round tubes. Like normal tubes. I se some other coolers like that but buy only Corsair.
Maybe camouflage tubes on some way.
That is enough AIR flow for me, only one graphic...
