No Picture :(

Installed a Galaxy GTX 460 GC 768.

No picture. Not POSTing to my knowledge.

Everything powered up from what I can tell, I could hear the case fans spinning, etc. I verified all motherboard connectors were in place and nothing had come loose. Verified that both PCIe6 pin power connectors were connected to the board. I tried using one PCIe6 connector and 2 molexes with an adapter, no go. Tried using only molex power with two adapters, no go.

I tried using both DVI connectors as well as the HDMI connector to two displays, a monitor, and a TV that I have hooked to my HTPC, so I know the HDMI there works, but no luck.

Manual says that the boards needs a PCI express x 16 or a PCI express x16 2.0. My motherboard Intel DP35DP indicates it has a PCI express x 16 connector, so that shouldn't be a problem.

PSU is in sig.

Any ideas or is it off to RMA land for this board?

Oh, I also installed the old Radeon 4670 back into the machine, works fine (it's how I typed this up).

hmmm i have that same power supply and was just about to buy the 1 GB variant of that card, it does say on galaxy's website that the 12 V has to have a minimum of 24 amps, according to newegg the PSU only has 22 Amps, could that be the problem?

I suspect the GTX460 is not getting proper power. This can be caused by:

1. card not firmly seated in the motherboard PCIe slot

2. one or both of the 6-pin PCIe connectors is/are not firmly fixed into the GTX460. You must insert them all the way until they are 'clicked'

3. faulty 6-pin PCIe connector(s) but this is not likely as you have tried using Molex adapters

4. insufficient PSU and this is also not likely as Antec EA-500D is enough and has two fixed PCIe cables

And, do you hear the normal beeping when booting up?
Does the fan of the GTX460 spin up?

Double check 1 and 2 above first of all.

I tried it again, specifically #1 and #2. I know the power cords were clipped in good.

good news though.

I have picture now.

My guess is it wasn't seated in all the way, which is strange, because the little rocker lock at the end of the port was OK.

Also, the GPU fan was not spinning on boot up which seems strange to me, but maybe that's just how it is in 2d mode?

EDIT: must be it because fan speed shows 20% in GPUZ now.
