Stay with your current processor if you're only gaming, it still has ways to go. However, it really is your decision. I wouldn't get the 1090t if it isn't a BE.

unless you endcode or something, you will see little to no gains

$90 not worth it. By the time you 'need' a six core youll get a 1090T for a lot cheaper (with the release of bulldozer and following chips)

If its doing everything you need it to now dont upgrade for the hell of it. would be tempting, but just not worth it at moment IMO.

Well how long til the "game gods" (without them I'd be lost) start creating games that use current CPUs more properly/completely?

Hi Foilfence,

Two things o on. First is it a BE if it isn;t..... Next do you Oc? If you do and that is a BE chip it will overclock better than the 955. Thurbans OC much better than the Denebs do. In other words that 1090 is a better ocing chip than the 955. BTW I run a 955 and am waiting to see which route I am going to go BD or Thurbun.
In either case do what makes you happiest. I don't think you can go wrong in either case.

It's not worth it really if you just play games. The only reason I went from a 965 to a 1055t is because I could get another 300MHz and 2 extra cores for $20. Even then the higher OC doesn't make much of a difference at higher resolutions (1920x1080+).
