Overclocking my i7-930 & Rampage III Gene

Thread Starter
I'm looking to get 3.8GHz (or 4.0GHz if possible) out of the i7-930, speed up my RAM to stock speeds (for whatever reason its posting 667MHz in all slots (Timings 8-8-8-20).

I've OC'ed the GPU at a comfortable level and I am looking to just do the above. ANY help would be greatly appreciated as I have never OC'ed my CPU/RAM.

Thanks and Happy New Years everyone!

Your RAM is running @ 1333MHz.

For DDR Memory you multiply the posted speed by two, IE: 667 * 2 = 1333MHz.

Thank you for this, I just learned something new. Could this be upped to 1600MHz?

Do you know how to boot into the BIOS?
Yes as that is what you payed for was the 1,600mhz ram. I can't remember if that ram has the x.m.p profile. But if it does you can go into the bios and ENTER "Extreme Tweaker Mode" look at "AI Overclocker Tuner" choose x.m.p and profile 2. And that should give you your 1,600mhz then. If your ram supports the x.m.p profile.

Yes, I do. I'm not that newb. I played around with the profiles and and got comfortable with everything. I just need to know what to set for each list item.

I was using Ai Overclock Tuner [CPU Level Up] with the CPU Level Up set at [i7-965 2.20G].

Other than that, I haven't tried changing anything as I am not familiar with things. I am on my laptop and have the BIOS booted and ready to start modifying attributes.

All I have is #1 Profile, which is:

Profile Info: 1600MHz-9-9-9-24-2N-1.50V
CPU Ratio Status: (Min: 12, Max: 22)

Unfortunately, this sets my CPU Freq. to 2793MHz. I tried Switching the Tuning Mode, but no change.
