Of the coolers on there, the only one I haven't tested is the Archon which I should be getting soon. The Spire is pretty much the same as the Alpenfohn Nordward I had last year.

Out of all of the the Silver Arrow is definitely the best despite me owning the NH-D14.

Coming from you that's high praise. I'm definitely looking forward to your reviewing the Archon on Vortez.

Thanks ehume .

I was meant to have the Archon last month but had to put it on hold to do graphics card reviews and my Master's dissertation. I also have the Prolimatech Super Mega to test.

The Archon looks very promising though and xbitlabs seems to praise the cooler very highly.

If I were going back to air cooling I'd grab an archon and rig up two bgears 140s with a y cable + mild reducer, sell the TY. I know it's a great fan and all but those colors are just awful.

really you cant do wrong with SA or D14, difference is at most 2C

I bought D14 because noctua has superb mounting system and I know that fans will spin like new for 3+years and I wasnt sure if SA fans can do that, just time will tell

I have a Megahalems with two 110CFM fans in a push/pull. I was looking at a D14, but the Megahalems just barely fit, due to my tall RAM heatsinks.

Noctua fans are awesome, by the way.

EDIT: Voted for the D14. I would have gotten it if it had fit.
