The Thermalright mounting system is great as well, and the TY-140 fans are much better and quieter than the crappy overpriced Noctua turds that come with the NH-D14.
if the TY-140 can run 4-5y as new I will gladly admit that they are better, but so far I had never have anything else besides noctua fans that were running like new after 4-5y.
so far second best and enermax magma which is running almost 2y as new

i guess people feel better about their purchase by supporting their own product. as i said, i don't have any of those coolers and haven't voted any but i kinda knew this was coming and already said in the first post that result may skewed due to popularity and number of owners on OCN

The noctua has pretty bad fans FYI... Brand doesn't mean much- look into them.

Basically- Noctua made the blades thinner to reduce turbulent disruptions (aka noise) but that causes some big issues with, namely, consistent static pressure (aka #1 factor for improving HSF performance). Thats a nutshell overaching engineering standpoint. Do whatever works for your use, but I don't use noctua fans for anything else but case fans (aka not on a heat sink)

Meh. Static pressure isn't that important for air based HSFs, as they are very unrestrictive hence CFMs are more important. The opposite of radiators and watercooling.

just because you have low CFM does not mean you have better static pressure. Just as high CFM do not necessarily equate to better static pressure. Of course, it doesn't help matters that most manufacturers do not publish static pressure stats for their fans.
