I am seeing that now... I am pushing the vCore a bit now and things are no longer crashing, but it is throttling.

If it helps, I have deltas on my Hyper 212, just one right now not push pull anymore like my sig says, too loud, but anyways, when Im at 1.425v or higher and run stress testing it pushes the 60c threshhold and I usually end the test. Thats why Im at 3600mhz at 1.29 right now. But I idle at 17-21c with cool n quiet enabled. To be honest the Hyper 212's are great for x3 and x2's but x4 or higher is really pushing them. Im dying for a Megahalems right now!
I am thinking you might be right. I may just need to bite the bullet and buy myself a new toy to play with (). Even if I get it stable I can't have it throttling on me...

Any suggestions? I have thought about the H50, but I have read that it will not work well under longterm loads as the water cannot dissipate the heat fast enough. I do a lot of video transcoding that can run for 24 hours or more so that might be an issue (and the throttling slows the transcoding speed by more than half).

Same here, but on my 955. I get 36-43c idle and I've reseated my cooler 6 times now but, I have no more paste to use so i gave up. I've tried different ways to put the paste on but they're all giving the same temps.. I don't know whats wrong with mine.

Anyone know how to prevent the throttling on my motherboard? I have scoured through the options in the BIOS and cannot find anything that may be causing it to throttle... I have disabled CnQ and C1E

Isn't that related to voltage regulation? I am talking about the CPU speed dropping as temps rise...

What do you mean by throttling, or I should ask how much throttling? I've been told that the X6's throttle on their own and there's no way to control it. Besides what you've done already the only thing I can suggest is making sure your power profile in windows is set to high performnce.

BTW I've been looking for a new cooler as well. The 212+ was great for my B55, but I think it's holding back my X6. I can't go as low as most with the voltages. And while I'm stable at 4.0, the voltage needed is pretty high and the temps get too hot over a prolonged amount of time.

It cuts the frequency back to ~2ghz for a short time then go back up to full speed. Seems to be cutting the multiplier to 7.5x. If it is automatically done then I definitely need a better cooler to prevent it. I think it was doing that also when I was operating at a slower speed (I could see the FPS of my transcodes dropping drastically sporadicly throughout).

Take it from me;

I've had my H50 on a B50, B50 unlocked to X4, 955 @ 4.1, and now my i7 @ 4 .0 @ 1.34.

It's hottest on the i7 no doubt, but I've played hours upon hours, (check xfire= xglorify) of COD4, Black Ops and now SC2 without troubles. It can disappate fine for me, even when I just have 1 scythe @ 50%.

My tip; go for the H50, grab another fan if your concerned. You wont be disappointed. Don't take the stock thermal paste off! You should be able to find one for $60 tops right now.

Lol. What a load of BS.

Of course a TX3 wont net you huge OC's, thats why they are cheap. Get a decent cooler and you will get past 4GHz no problem.

4.1GHz here on air with ease.

Plenty of people with well over 4GHz on air, go check the 1055T thread.

Snag up a Megahalems and get the AMD mount kit. Or of course, the Noctua D-14 or Silver Arrow if you want the best.

Well you have good voltage. Voltage is what ultimately causes heat. If you go over 1.47 or so, it becomes very tough to stay in temp range on air, only the very high end coolers can do that. Like yours.
