Need GPU for upgrade - Page 2

I have a couple of HIS 5830s that are brand new in their boxes collecting dust if you're interested. Definintely will sell them for far less than your $350 budget. PM if you're interested.

OK, well Newegg is now all sold out of the EVGA 570's, so what is the next best thing? Is there anything around the $250-300 range?

Just checked on the egg they have them 359.99 for evga 570. I would get that if I was you. I did and debating putting another in beside it. It is getting lonely.

Both the regular and superclocked versions are showing in stock right now on the site.

Provantage.com has EVGA GTX570s in stock...

The -TR is about $350 and the -AR is roughly $10 more.

Any idea on price and how it will match up with the current stuff?

I was hoping to upgrade my system all at once but I suppose I can live with my dated 8800gt for another month.

GTX560 will be somewhere between US$250 and $300. I think it is more closer to $250.
Reportedly, it can handily beat 6870 and will close in on the 6950.
An oc'ed 560 will also close in on the 570.

If you can wait, wait until 25th Jan or better until early Feb. That is when non reference (cooling and speed) GTX570/580 will begin to flood the market. And early example is Palit's Phantom GTX570. By then, I expect prices of reference GTX570/580s will drop slightly so that the newer non reference cards can come in easier (price wise).
At that time, you will have much more options, both price wise and performance wise. (Not to mention AMD will release 1GB verison of 6950/6970 to compete)

Well I usually don't buy non-reference cards anyway since I only get EVGA and they always seem to follow the reference design, other than maybe their clock speeds... but that I can do myself.
