Cyborg R.A.T. and Keyboard Issues

Okay, so for christmas i got the RAT 9 and Cyborg Keyboard v.7. Im running windows 7 64 bit and i cant get both of them to work at the same time. Either the RAT or the keyboard works and the one time that i did get both of them to work, i couldnt use the programming software for the RAT. Obviously too much money was spent to have problems with the hardware. Ill be posting this in the mouse forum as well to get all the possible help or people with the same problems as possible. Thank you for any information you can give me

Yo, It looks like we pretty much have the same setup, except mine is working fine. Having said that I did have a few minor teething problems that sounded similar to yours.

Basically I noticed that Windows 7 does not like having the USB port of the keybaord swapped about, I was doing a bit of cable arrangement only to notice that after changing the port the keyboard was still lit but it would not work. ARG!

I checked in Device Manager and it appeared as a 'troubled' entry. So, I right clicked each entry and then installed generic Windows drivers (USB Input/keyboard etc). That got the thing responding again, and also allowed me to install the Cyborg drivers.

From what I understand of its functionality, the programming software that comes with it is a 'one-size-fits-all' kinda deal for any Cyborg product you have drivers intalled for. Their installation comes in two parts, the driver, and the programming software, they are two seperate entities that work together.

So, if programming features are an issue, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and check what versions are installed. I made the crucial mistake of installing the programming software for the keyboard and the RAT, when I only needed to install the latest version. So, to get everything gravy again, i removed all instances of the programming software from the program list, restarted the PC and then downloaded and installed the latest versino of the ST from cyborggaming.com.

Thankfully, everything now works as advertised and has done ever since. An indicator of your success will be a keyboard and RAT icon in your system tray. If your on Windows 7 you should also get a natty little RAT pic in Devices and Printers (not the most awesome thing in the world, but it was a pleasant surprise).

Hope this helps, let me know how it goes.
