thats just messed. first time ive seen such happening.

True or not, go into the bios and lower the voltages if u can.

I dont think HP is overvolting though. 1.6 is so high that my processor should have been fried. and temps were around 50c, so nothing terrible. I think it is just a misread with those motherboards.

dont worry about your CPU though. I dropped my 920 in my new build and it is runnning at 4.0GHz with a 1.28Vcore. It most certainly doesnt act damaged or anything

His is an HP build, and thus impossible. My HP gave off the same 1.6 reading in CPU-z, but the bios wont allow you to touch anything. My temps were around 50c, so nothing bad. I concluded that it must be a misread by the mobo. 1.6 would do too much damage and I have had my CPU for over a year and its now in my new rig, functioning like a dream.

right but it is a core i5 which have been known to have the sockets go molten! I would be very worried!

Been over one year I've purchased the computer and about 2 weeks I've switched my PSU + GPU
