[Engadget] OCZ intros Vertex 3 Pro, Vertex 3 EX and Z-Drive R3 PCIe SSD at CES - Page 4

Way to go OCZ.

I swear, they need the "the pursuit of performance" motto.

Just a couple of pointers. If your current rig will bottleneck these, can't you get a card with SATA 6? Or will the PCIe lanes bottleneck it?

I just bought the Vertex2 but I'm not disappointed these have come out. I'm quite happy with mine and sure it'll serve me for a couple of years.

When does it come out? I'm seeing either a 120 or 240GB in my near future!

For an OS drive, you do not want to use a 3rd party controller. The native chipset controller provides better random performance. While you won't be able to max out the sequential performance, your OS will be better off.

This is exactly why I haven't bought SSD's yet.

I'm on the verge, but after reading this... I'll wait til the next gen Sandforce.

Don't forget there are two new Marvel controllers, Intel G3, and Indilinx Jetstream to look foward to as well!

SSDs are just amazing! No other component has produced such a leap in performance recently.

Pfffff maybe I need to do more research! I knew there was a reason I wasn't buying into all these current-gen "slow" SSDs!

Hm, OCZ should manufacture a specialty RAID controller card for TRIM to be supported in RAID.
