Newly built computer wont start

Thread Starter
Hello.

I finished building a new computer and am unable to get it to start. The green LED power light is on, so I have standby power. However, the DRAM light doesn't turn on unless i hold the ram adjustment button thingy, and even then, it just flashes red for a second. I tried tripping the power switch on the mobo, but It has no effect. No fans start up at all, including the cpu fan, and i am extremely frustrated. For reference, I have an ASUS M4A87TD.

Thanks

Fill out you system specs in ur user CP. It will help ppl assist you better. Trying using one stick of ram at a time to see if that helps.

I can't help much, but would have a much better idea if you went to your User CP, then edited your system. That way the community would know what all you have and would be better informed to help out.

My motherboard is raised, but the edges of it are against the side of my case, where the graphics card is parked against (those removable strips). Could touching that side kill my motherboard? It looks like it was designed to touch because thats where it rests when i screwed in my motherboard.

Try to get it more centerd if possible. And try one stick of ram at a time and see if u can boot up. Also, do you have the 24pin and 4(or 8) pin connectors plugged into you Mother board along with the power to your video card? make sure everything is correctly plugged in. And make sure ur CPU is installed correctly cause it also plays a big part in ur ram working correctly
