OCN build recommenders, prepare to tip your hats out to me, for all you who don't mind OCZ memory quality I just found another great memory deal...
OCZ Special Ops 2x2GB DDR3-1600 - 1.65v, 8-8-8 timings - $45, no rebate!
That's right, cheaper than even the 1600 9-9-9 kits out there.

I remember an OCN member once tested this RAM on an AMD system; he managed 1600 6-8-6-24 with around 1.75v. Looks to me like some nicely-binned PSC or Elpida BBSE in here for cheap.

how sure are you that its BBSE?

could be anything. and BTW PSC usually likes tRAS 2 above CL

EDIT: 1.75v it could be anything semi-decent. thats a lot more volts than BBSE or PSC need as well.
my BBSE sticks do 6-7-6-18 1600 at 1.64v stable.

If they had the regular black heatspreaders, I'd be all over them.

more likely samsung

Either way, it's cheaper than all the 1600 CAS9 memory out there
And the price is not a discount price at all even.

Aside from the OCN reviewer, an Anon reviewer on Newegg could also manage 6-8-6-20 on these (no specific details on voltage, but the anon said "little increase")
Another Newegg reviewer on an AM3 system stated 1760 8-8-8 possible at 1.7V...perhaps these indeed are Samsung looking at the voltage scaling.
