hello, i have chosen my first build, and i would like some feedback on it from my fellow overclock.net members.

i have 2 setups in mind, and yes unfortunately it is over the intel/amd argument.

Intel:

CPU: Intel i7 950/wait for ivy bridge
M/B: Gigabyte x58a-ud5
Ram: Patriot Viper-Sector7 12GB Kit(4Gx3) DDR3 1600
CPU cooler: Cooler Master V8 Without stock fan
Case: Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced
PSU: Corsair HX 850 (Professional Edition)
Optical Drive: LG DVD/RW SATA
Video Card: 2 nVidia GTS 450 cards in 2-way SLI
Card Reader: AeroCool Infinite Panel (black)
Hard Drives: WD 1TB HDD & Seagate 1TB HDD (SATA and dunno if they can be in raid 0)
Keyboard & Mouse: Thermaltake Sports Challenger Keyboard & Matching Mouse
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64bit


AMD:

CPU: Phenom II x6 1100T or wait for nxt gen
M/B: Asus Crosshair IV Extreme
Ram: (confused about which ram to get from MSY)
CPU cooler: Cooler Master V8 Without stock fan
Case: Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced
PSU: Corsair HX 850 (Professional Edition)
Optical Drive: LG DVD/RW SATA
Video Card: 2 Gigabyte 6850 in 2-way Crossfire
Card Reader: AeroCool Infinite Panel (black)
Hard Drives: WD 1TB HDD & Seagate 1TB HDD (SATA and dunno if they can be in raid 0)
Keyboard & Mouse: Thermaltake Sports Challenger Keyboard & Matching Mouse
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64bit

depends on how much you want/need the system, if now i would get the amd system, however if you can wait, worth checking what ivy and bulldozer have to offer

Get the i7 950 or Sandy Bridge now.

Also, do you need 12GB of RAM? The vast majority of people do not. Memory is not a case of "more is better," and in-fact, is "more is worse."
