first boot help!

Thread Starter
Hey guys. This is my first build attempt but encountering some problems.

I plugged everything in and I'm attempting to install Windows 7. However, the Windows install in VERY slow. It never got past that first dialogue box. I've tried switching hdd, I tried switching dvdrom drive. The only things I haven't checked are the install dvd itself, the sata cables, and ram (tested ram, but didn't try removing one of the sticks)

Here are the parts...
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black Edition
GPU: EVGA GTS 450
Motherboard: GIGABYTE 880GA-UD3H
PSU: OCZ stealthxstream ii 600 watt
RAM: 4gb (2x2) Corsair XMS3
Hard Drive:WD Caviar 500GB Serial ATA HD 7200/16MB/SATA-3G
DVD Burner: ASUS 24X DVDRW

Help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

I had this problem too, I think the problem lies in the BIOS with the hard drive controller. Theres are 3 different types SATA, ANCH or somthing like that and another one. I would try switching to a different one and see how it goes. It helped me
