SSD firmware upgrade?

I'm using, as I'm sure you know by now, an A-DATA S599 SSD with 64GBs of space (well, that's actually closer to 55GBs of space, but whatever) as a boot drive. I want to upgrade the firmware of it in hopes of improving compatibility with my hardware (it's only reading at about 150MB/s and writing at even less when its read/write speeds should be close to double that). However, even following instructions on the A-DATA site and using their tool, my SSD just refuses to update.

Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know how to solve it?

Not sure about yours, but I had to take my drive/controller off of AHCI for the Crucial updating utility to see the drive.

I haven't been able to put mine on AHCI, hence wanting a firmware update.
