I have to go out to buy a dedicated subwoofer for that effect. However I enjoy music that isn't full of **** as well so I personally would not go to a retail 2.1 system.

But really if all you listen to is the black eye peas and watch movies and play games there are more than good enough to satisfy the majority of people. Its like comparing Granny Smith to Fuji Apples. Same family but for different purposes.
Hardly anyone here just listens to hip hop music. If you're going to buy a speaker system, you go for something that is well rounded in sound. Not something that is just good for being drowned in bass.

Yea, the elitist attitude is pretty strong here. Between my receiver, sub, 2 speakers, and headphones I've spent a grip and love it. However, there are people who just want to spend $150, have decent sound that multiple people can hear at once, and not crowd their desktop while they're at it. That's what PC speakers are made for.

However, some of these comments about using PC speakers for parties are a bit too much. Use PC speakers for PC speaker tasks. No wonder I see so many people overheating their amps and busting woofers.

That's what "we" go for. Other people have a different motive or their ears are just different. We can't mix our priorities with everyone else's on something as subjective as audio and musical taste.

Laugh all you want. Laugh at my speakers, laugh at me using them at a party instead of an expensive PA system, laugh that I have hundreds of cool friends, laugh that I am cool and host parties all the time, and especially laugh at the fact I go home with a new cute girl after every party. Yup, laugh at all of those things, they sure are funny.

ljason8eg, please tell me how to be cool. Please tell me what PA system to buy so I can be cool like you.

No one cares how "cool" you are on here. I thought it was pretty obvious that tiny ass little speakers aren't going to fill up a large room, and that was pretty much the extent of my post. You brought up all the other personal stuff that supposedly makes you better than me.

How do you host all the cool parties and then go home with a cute girl after every cool party that you host........with your Logitech Z2300's!

Everything depends on money
You should be lucky because I could never be cool like you, no friend...

Anyway, this topic is about 2.1 PC speaker, so don't compare them to Z-5500.
I have Z-2300 and it's powerful enough. It also depends on the room and source.
It has average-good sound quality. I don't know if Z623 or else can beat it or not.

Yea well alot of people I personally JUST listens to hip hop/pop, plays games and watch movies. If you haven't notice, thats the majority of the American teens and college student society.

Bass Bass and more Bass.

Z2300 isn't crappy by any standards. IMO its one of the best at what it does. Do I put thousand dollar speakers around my TV? No because a simple soundbar and subwoofer system is good ENOUGH to allow me to enjoy movies and games. Sure maybe the soundtrack have crummy highs or bloated bass, but is that what I'm focusing on during a movie or game? No it isn't. Does that mean I will get one for my computer? Hell no. But I understand when something is just good ENOUGH.

Different market is for different people. I have an decent headphone and speaker system up for my computer but I doubt any random guy can appreciate it as much as I do just as people even higher end than me might sneer at my DT880 600 ohms and my MKIIIs driven thru a Keces AMP/DAC.

But to me its good enough.
Yup...

LOL, this is the most pathetic thing I've ever read. hahahaha.

I'd hate to see what you mean by "cute" if you gauge a girls cuteness similar to the way you gauge a speakers sound quality, the girl's you bring home must be trolls.

Bringing home girls does not make you cool, it makes you a manwhore.

In my mind the best way to test speakers is the dubstep test.

Which one of these does bass-heavy, yet articulate dubstep sound best?
