Spray Paint

Thread Starter
I been working on my rig and was wondering which cans of spray paint would I need to get to give the fans inside my case a nice new color? I have three case fans and three of these which I'll like to paint red:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-092-_-Product

I heard I need to give it a coat of primer then paint it which ever color I desire.
Here is some work I liked and would like to get something similar to:

nice rig man, i wouldnt worry bout primer for the fans just give em a good scruff with say 800 paper, and use a good acrylic or enamel(think acrylic would stick a bit better) there might be a paint designed for plastic, at your local hardware store??

thats not hius he wants them to look like that..

@op so basicly the only fans that are painted in that are the ram ones but heres some tips.
1: remove that fan assembly so there are no blades on it.
2: to paint the shroud (outside) coat in primer then coat in your choice.
3: to coat the blades make sure you tape off all electrical parts and just coat in the color you want.

This. I paint cars for living and 800 grit will do the right amount of sanding for what you need and won't leave any sand marks. No need to go overboard, a good even scuff is all you need for good adhesion.

Krylon Fusion works great on plastic. It's made for plastic and claims to not need a primer. I painted my gentle typhoons flat black and they look great. It's a very matte flat black, I love it.

Rustoleum all purpose works fine for me for... everything.

Disassemble the fans, scruff it up and clean it off, 2 coats or primer, few coats of paint and a few of clearcoat and you're done and set to go.
