Is my monitor broken?

Something really weird is up with my LCD monitor, I'm not sure if it's normal or not. It doesn't seem to happen on my brothers LCD...

Okay, basically when I keep my monitor completely straight (not tilted back or forward) the screen itself doesn't look straight. It's kind of hard to explain so I'll draw it on paint:

When I look straight ahead, it looks as if the top of the monitor is tilted forward but when I check the monitor from the side, its completely flat.

This wouldn't be such a big problem because all I'd have to do is tilt the top of the monitor back. However.... when I tilt it back I get insane headaches. My eyes start squinting immediately as if I'm struggling to focus.

Is my monitor defective? Can you guys try putting your monitor straight and checking if the screen appears straight? I need to know for sure before I buy a new one

Ps. It's some lg 17" LCD, forgot model.

I've never heard this before.

Did you change anything to your computer in the past few days or when it started ?

Your request will be fruitless: 1. Because most people keep their monitors straight up (no tilt, no rotate) and I can assure you do not have this problem, and 2. you're asking other people with other hardware, which doesn't match your own, to test this when you already said you saw another monitor and didn't have this issue.

Reset your monitor to factory defaults. Try this monitor on a different computer. Remove nVidia or ATI control panels/drivers and use the standard VGA video driver (if applicable). Try a different video cable and/or video connector on the back of the monitor.

Otherwise call the manufacturer if under warranty.

No and I don't remember if it has always been like that. AFAIK, the monitor is making a low buzzing/cracking noise once in a while.

This monitor gives me a headache instantaneously, I don't know why... I don't get a headache on my other LCD. My other monitor is a samsung 226BW, that's kind of old, It's not an OLED is it?

And my monitor is still under warranty from LG.... but I don't have the original receipt and the monitor isn''t "physically" malfunctioning either...

Thanks for the ideas. I tried this monitor on my brothers computer and the problem is now gone. The screen is better on his pc.

I can't test if it's my dvi cable or not because his card doesn't take dvi but currently im using another cable (VGA) on a old vga card (mx440). I'm not sure if its the video card or the cable but I'm leaning towards the cable being the culprit

Does anybody know if homedepot/office depot sells monitor cables? (or dvi-vga adapters)? I know they sell monitors for sure but not about cables

P.S. Tested my video card with a VGA->DVI adapter and it seems its not the video card. If anything, it's the cable.... or I'm allergic to dvi displays (lol)
