[Official] CES 2011 Thread

Thread Starter
This will be much simpler than the specific hardware threads; just post (and discuss) any new CES-based articles in this thread. Due to the sheer number of articles that will be published over the next 3-5 days, I won't keep a list in this post. I also won't bother merging existing threads here, as the articles in their sources were published before the event actually began.

Also note this thread will be preserved after the event and bumped next year for CES 2012.

Edit; a member has offered to keep an updated list of CES stories; jump to his post here to see it.

Edit 2; we also have OCN and MOA coverage here and here respectively.

Gigabyte finally unveiled their G1 Killer X58 gaming motherboards:

Seems kinda pointless at this time, X58 has been out since late 2008, would have been better if they designed it for P67 instead.

I like those designs. That's super dope.

That is a sweet looking motherboard! Someone should use that for a Green/Black PC!

I do like the colour scheme they have going on. But the ammo clip cooler is a little silly, but hey that's just me

But I can't wait to see the reviews on these bad boys. Especially the Assassin

Looks silly.

Also, "5 sets Smart Fans strategically eliminate the thermal"

Those boards are freaking ugly, little gamer kids will be happy though.

Valve: New Intel tech allows for 'console-like experience on PC'

Quote:
Valve boss Gabe Newell has thrown his support behind Intel's new Sandy Bridge microprocessor, saying that the developer created Portal 2's PC version with the tech in mind.

Speaking on stage during the second-generation core i7 processor's reveal at CES last night, Newell labelled the integrated CPU and graphics technology "a game changer".

"This allows for a console-like experience on the PC," he said rather vaguely, according to the International Business Times.

Why the hell would you want to?

Err, can we get links to the "headline" posts in this thread, in the OP? Otherwise, the news will just get buried in other posts and this thread ceases to be useful

Edit: I realise you've said you won't, but it's just my opinion.
