New Biostar Build was working flawlessly, and now it is randomly rebooting when taxed

The build is "her rig" in my profile, but here's the specs:

Quote:
CPU:AMD Athlon II X2 250 Regor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache
Motherboard:BIOSTAR TA890GXB HD AM3 AMD 890GX HDMI SATA 6Gb/s
GPU maker:
Graphics Card:ATI Radeon HD 4290
Memory:OCZ DR3 1600 Mhz 2 x 2Gb
Power Supply:APEVIA ATX-CB600W 600W ATX12V Power Supply 115/230
Case:Cooler Master RC-310-BWN1-GP Elite 310 ATX, MATX M
Sound Card:Realtek ALC892
Operating System:Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
When I originally built this system a few weeks back, I was getting random BSOD errors, through some troubleshooting I was informed that the problem was incompatible RAM. Replaced it with recommended RAM, reseated the CPU, and everything was running smoothly for a week or so. I was able to run Prime 95 overnight without issue, and passed memtest no problem.

Now today the person the PC was built for returns, and plays some games on it for a bit. TF2 and some other lighter stuff. Then we begin to play Titan Quest together and she says the game is acting "jumpy". I blame it on the onboard video, and she continues to play, then the computer reboots itself randomly. Now, anytime I try to run anything harsh (Titan Quest, Prime 95, the computer reboots itself. The same thing occurs when I try to run memtest before starting windows. I have no idea where to go from here. I have tested the computer with a different PSU as that's what google led me to, but that changed nothing. I'd greatly appreciate any help or advice that can be offered. Thank you.

Sounds like it might be the power supply going south. That would be the first thing I check.

I tried it with the Power Supply on this PC, and it did the exact same thing.

For those not that intelligent, how would I avoid that if it were the case?

there's a few ways to ruin ram. bad power supply, not enough air circulation, unstable overclock. sounds like you went the bad psu route

It's a brand new PSU, so I suppose I'll be returning that and swapping out my RAM then.

If you can do both in one shot I would, def sounds like a psu with the reset under load but not if its running normal. If you cant send both together def suggest sending that psu off first and trying...is worth a try since the ram may still be good

But I tried the same RAM with the perfectly functioning PSU on this computer as well as the one on there currently.

Thing is the RAM isn't under load when I'm running Prime, the CPU is. Is there a chance the PSU hurt everything? Should I do a full on swap of my parts except the CPU?

replace the power supply it generic passive pfc junk I highly highly doubt it can get anywhere close to 600w and luckly its probably just cutting out instead of blowing up.

Get something made by seasonic, antec, or corsair.

I'm definiotely going to replace the Power Supply, but I've tried the unit with my reliable OCZ and had the same results, so I'm hoping to figure out what else is probably shot so as to fix the issue when the new one arrives.
