Need advice on Hyper 212 plus or N620, which one will fit in my system?

Hi

I am new to the forum, sorry if i am not following the rules or posting in wrong forum.

I was thinking of overclocking my CPU (AMD 965 BE) and for that I have to replace my stock cooler with one of the above (the one that actually fits). I have M4A78T-E motherboard and the memory DIMMs are very close to the CPU and I have all four occupied with Corsair Value Select 2 GB RAM (Total 8 GB). My Casing is CM Elite 334 and i am pretty sure both of the above coolers would fit Case wise (I have already removed the side panel funnel, but there is a 80 mm fan installed sucking the air into the case). Please correct me if i am wrong (Would I have to remove the side panel fan as well??)

The main query is will any of the above Coolers install on my CPU without hitting my RAM. The Corsair VS RAM has normal height its not tall. Please let me know only then I will buy the above coolers?

If the above will not fit, is there any other cooler that will support my cause? I will overclock from 3.4 to 4 Ghz so please recommend a good cooler (but it should fit)

Thanks if your reading this!

You must very much need a compact case.

Low profile RAM. Pretty much any cooler will work.

That N620 has in effect 5 heatpipes. It's a mediocre cooler, probably in the same league as the 212+, though the review I'm looking at has it doing better than the Mugen 2. It comes with two fans, both of which you will need, so I'd recommend that over the 212+.

Your case has a 120mm rear fan, so any full tower cooler will fit.

Your front fan is behind a mesh, so cut out the still grill and put your fan there. Also cut out the rear grill. No heatsink is better than its airflow. You can use your cpu cooler as case exhaust (see item 2 in my sig).

Just where are you going to get an N620? And at what price? You can get a Mugen 2 for $34 ATM. I have it running with Ripjaws RAM, which has higher heatsinks than yours.

Thanks for the reply bro, much appreciated! Unfortunately I don't have much options with the fans (I am from India and I don't know for sure whether mugen 2 would be available, just did a quick check on Ebay India, its not there). I am going to buy N620 from a local dealer for 2500 Rs (Roughly $50).

As you think, it wont clash with my low profile RAM, I am good to go then. Thanks a lot

Another advice on the cooling part (I would definitely try and cut the mesh). My front fan 120mm installed at the bottom of the case sucks air in and the rear fan 120 mm blows air out. I have another 80 mm fan installed on the side panel (hexagonal in size, slightly uppish) blowing air in. Is it fine or should the side panel fan blow out (The main purpose of the fan was to blow cool air on the CPU through the funnel). Since i will remove the funnel due to n620's height constraint. Should I change the direction of this fan to blow out or not?

Please let me know and thanks once again.

Side panel usually should blow air in. But you can try it both ways.

Sorry I forgot to look in your profile for location.
