pci question

Thread Starter
my psu has 2 6pin pci connectors and and 2 8pin pci connectors on it. I have 2 gtx 260's which require 4 6pin cables all together, so is it possible to just put a 6pin cable into the 8pin slot on the psu without using the 8+6 pin cables?

I would use the 6 pin adapters that should have been supplied with the PSU. Not to sure what the outcome would be by trying to use the 8 pins.
