Opinions on my amateur cable management (with pics)

Thread Starter
Just RMA'd my PSU and took it as an oppurtunity to redo all the messy cable management in my case.

Took these two pictures really quickly.

Want your guys' opinions on what I can do to improve.
Rate my job x/10.

Upper portion of the case looks nice with the 8-pin CPU power tucked out of the way. The bottom mess of cables next to the PSU is just terrible. I want to sleeve those molex connectors so badly but it's too much effort:

I tried my best with the SATA data and power cables. Here you can get a better view of the mess of cables at the bottom (kinda inevitable on a 900, though):

Before you start spewing your criticism, note that this was done by a 14 year old lol. Constructive criticism please!!

Pretty decent for a case that has horrid cable management (don't feel bad..my V9 Black Edition has horrid cable management as well ). Could be better but that would really involved cutting holes in your case.

From what I can see it is about a 5 because of the cables at the bottom of the case. Unfortunately the Antec 900 is terrible for cable management, unless you mod it. (My last case was a 900 and I modded it for cable management)

If you want to up your score you are going to have to mod your case unfortunately.

I agree, it was my mistake to not look into cable management before buying a 900.
I want to tuck all the cables at the bottom on top of the bottom HDD to get it out of the way.

Why don't you sleeve your cables (PSU, Fan, usb etc etc) in that way you would change drastically you PC its tediuos but worth the time.

check this out.

Have you thought about modding your case for cable management. All it takes to really do it is a hole saw and some u-channel, electrical tape (or solder if you want to make it more durable), heatshrink, extra wire, and a lighter.

Cut a big hole by the power supply to pull the cables through to the back of the mobo. A hole in the top left for the 4/8pin power connector, a hole in the top right for the front panel cables.

Splice the header cables to add length to them so they can be fed behind the mobo tray. Using the electrical tape to hold the splice or you can solder it and then cover it with heatshrisnk (using the lighter to shrink the heatshrink)

Cover all the cuts you made with the hole saw with the U Channel and then do your cable management.

Here is a picture of my rig when I first built it almost 3 years ago. I had the PC Power and Cooling 750w psu (really long cables and non modular) 2 evga 8800GTS, 1 hd and 1 dvd rom.

7/10. Good job considering ANtec cases suck for cable management. Cut some holes in it to create your own.

Its not bad but the A300 is crap for cable management.

>.> Should have got the CM 690 II Adv. <3

Not the best pics but here is what you can do with the CM690 II Adv. (not mods):

Really don't want to spend all the time cutting holes and modding for cable management. I'll just deal with it and find the best workarounds .____.

Nice work on some of your cable tucks. +REP
