GTX 465 or ATI 5850 or something else?

$250 budget, but I'd like to hold it to $200 if at all possible. Light gaming (Civ 5), photoshop and HD video. Suggestions?

I´m thinking they both might be overkill ,what size and resolution is the monitor, also what PSU is in the build ?
( I take it this is not for your sig rig )

Get a gtx460, they run super cool and can be had with a deal at 140ish. If you were to stick to your budget, I'd ponder a 6870.

Not my sig rig, but a similar build. AX850 psu, so that's not an issue. The price range for the monitor is also $250'ish. We were looking at an I-Inc 28" monitor, 1920x1200.

I got a gtx 460 yesterday, its already ocd, but doesnt feel much faster than my 4870, i got about 1000 more 3dmarks and about 7fps extra in crysis (although it could just be my cpu). Not a massive upgrade, but i only bought it because the 4870 died. Its still a good card though, so consider it.

Yeah Your cpu would be the bottleneck, If you had quadcore it would help, or even better, i7/i5 or any x4 amd processors
