Im stuck with 2 5870s right now so i dont know how much there drivers have improved with the 6xxx series. So, since the 6970s dont have much OCing room, do you think it'd be best to get 2 570s, and overclock them to surpass 2 580s?
who said that? just wait until afterburner supports voltage control on these babies.

Basically it was cheap. Everytime the 2x4GB ripjaws went down to 100 I bought a set thinking it's gonna go up again, next thing I know it... 24GB lol.

Try about roughly 20% slower than a 580.

Both the 6970's and 580's should easily surpass 60FPS on all your games. Since your monitor can only display 60FPS than it's only logical to say that you should buy the cheapest option which is the 6970's. You won't see any difference over 60FPS and to be honest I use V-Sync on all my games because tearing starts happening.

I dont understand; where in my entire message did I say to get the GTX 580? I told you not to get it.

Also where did i say that ATI drivers were bad? Please re read what I wrote, as I did not say any of those things. In fact I was in defense of their drivers. I just bought a 6850 and the drivers work great for me.

I'm trying to tell you, you wont go wrong with either the 570 or 6950. If costs is an issue, then definitely get the 6950. Good luck with your choice!

My unlocked xfx 6950 have it maxed at 950/1450. Gotta wait till afterburner is updated to push beyond the CCC limits.
