If you've followed the development at all, or watched any of the two demo videos I posted above, it will give you a good idea of where this game is headed. There are tons more gameplay demo videos out there at the moment too.
Arenanet is a very different company than other MMO developers at the moment (in fact the founders broke away from Blizzard to form Arenanet with a different philosophy of game design. They have the awesome mentality of "it'll be ready when it's ready". Which is why they haven't even entertained ideas of a release date until its polished and perfected. They refuse to release a shoddy game.
Likewise, Arenanet's publishers NCsoft has been very supportive of Arenanet during their so far 3 years of development of the game. They've given them seemingly unlimited time, and unlimited budget to do what they want, because they know Anet will produce an amazing product.
I didn't mention the best part, once you buy the game, it will be free to play online, no subscription fees!
I don't think you understand what I'm saying. I played Guild Wars. I loved it, the look, atmosphere and all that is wonderful.
However, do you realize how easy it is to make game videos look good? You do realize that people are paid
to make these videos to simply get this "dude this is the best game ever" attitude.
I don't care about ANYTHING about a game till it is released. Yes, I can get an idea of how a game looks/plays/feels from videos, but it's all one-sided. Every single developer always has the best things to say about their game, and of course they do. It's their game.
I remind you, AoC was raved by thousands of people as it being the "best mmo ever" End game was supposed to be awesome, but it was broken, they just didn't show you the broken parts before release.
And you say they have an unlimited budget, I promise you, they don't. No one would ever tell anyone. "Here, here is an unlimited amount of money. Make a game with it."
No, they give them a set amount, while it may be a large sum, they do this to make money. That's the only reason this game is coming out. To make someone somewhere money.
