GTX 470 Poor Crysis Performance - Page 5

Looks about right. I average about 38fps @ 900MHz core at those settings. Leave everything maxed and reduce your shaders to High and watch your FPS shoot up if you want 60+ in Crysis. With everything else maxed @ 1920x1080 DX10 4xAA with high shaders, I don't really notice a big difference and my FPS literally double.

Have you tried running some other games and benchmarks to make sure they are on par as well?

As for GTAIV, I have no problems maxing that game aside from shadows. I leave shadows at medium as I can't really tell a huge difference and they're a HUGE resource hog in that game. Everything else is maxed with the sliders around 70 and it stays around 60fps most of the time with a few dips to the mid to high 40's. Never goes below 40 though.

From what I've heard, GTX570 > GTX470 but the fps difference isn't huge(5-10fps max if even that), so, I think your fps is fine

BTW, I should mention that my resolution was 1080p and I find that from experience, that running the game doesn't yield the same fps, so, I prefer an actual run through, albeit concentrating on intensive areas and such to get a better value for max/min/avg, etc....

Theres no issue. Crysis is not well optimized. Get over it.
^^ I know you mentioned almost btw

Having cleared that up , I ran the benchmark at 4xAA to see what my GTX570 would get considering the minor fps difference between the 570 and 470. Result is:
1/7/2011 1:06:10 AM - Vista 64

Run #1- DX10 1920x1080 AA=4x, 32 bit test, Quality: VeryHigh ~~ Overall Average FPS: 32.135

So, I'm getting 6.135fps more than your GTX470, sounds about right. I do have to agree with this statement you wrote though:

I can't see any cpu bottlenecks either. I would think your 470 would get at least 5-10fps if not more than the 470 but who knows the reason

Can you try with no AA? If i remember correctly my GTX470 @ 800Mhz got 39fps with no AA. With AA it should be ~ 33 which is not that far off. Just for reference my HD 6970 @ 935Mhzs gets 49fps with 4AA, GTX 580 @ 900Mhz gets 57fps and HD 5850 @ 1000Mhz gets 41fps.

hmm, with no AA, I was only managing 40fps. Of course, that's with no oc and I didn't run this benchmark, rather played till I took down the jammer and tried to get every intensive moment possible. Do want to mention, those are some heavy oc's

^^Indeed. My 8800gts 512 used to give me 25fps or so @ 1024p @ VH no AA. Played right through crysis with those settings till the boss battle which went down to high. Also, sounds like it's time for an upgrade for that LED monitor for yours
