Crysis 2 and why the PC graphics are going to suck - Page 3

Anyway, I knew this would be true as soon as I heard "multiplatform'. This is why PC gamers hate so much on consoles, at least more so than any other reason. Multiplatform titles trying to run on 5 year old consoles will just not look that cutting edge on PC, end of story. I didn't really like the gameplay of Crysis anyway so I don't care much but other fans might.
There is a thread around here somewhere which has screenshots of console graphics of Crysis and everyone was flippin out over it. Google PC Crysis 2 Screenshots and its a whole different story.

So yeah, I'm calling that a magical engine.

Oh, and OP needs something called proof. I heard it helps when trying to convince people of something completely unbelievable.
Don't drink the kool aid. They ALL say that, they have to or else customers would complain and not buy the version they perceived to be inferior.

i also heard crysis going 3d among other things
but maybe its a slightly toned down version of cryengine2 with additional effects and optimisations to look at least as good as original crysis still giving more fps than it.....

Yes, they are going 3d. Supposedly with little if any fps hits(like 1 less fps ). Something along the lines of copying the frame, so, less work, etc... There was a news thread on it a while back where Cevat was stating this.

Guys, stop bashing the OP. Just because some has few posts and no rep doesn't meant what they say is true. Where did you guys get your rep from then? What he says is true. There was a thread a week ago with actual gameplay screenshots. Crysis 2 just doesn't match up to Crysis.
A lot of people in this thread are hoping hard that this won't be like every other multiplatform title out there. I don't care one way or the other, this is a game I don't have an interest in even if it has the best graphics ever.

Still, what is more likely, that this game will be just as good or better than their 3 year old gpu killer or that it will be a true multiplatform game that will probably not even look as good as the first one released three years ago? Only time will tell.

Until I see the game released and actual PC screenshots, I'm holding back on saying that the game isn't as impressive as crysis. I see no reason to do so considering the effort going towards making the pc version as hard to run as previous games(crysis, farcry). I do agree though, OP shouldn't be bashed for what he's stating, although, he shouldn't say it's clear cut either

Yeah, that's precisely why i'm calling it "magical engine": Irrationnal, hardly conceivable, and highly efficient marketing wise.

The problem with OP is the "my friend works for Crytek etc." part. Irrationnal and hardly conceivable as well .
