Crysis 2 and why the PC graphics are going to suck - Page 4

All I read was Crysis 2 and troll troll troll troll troll.

Graphics will be scaled down on CONSOLES. Overall, it will be easier on all 3 systems with a greatly reduced draw distance. It's incorporating DX11. The original STILL is legendary as a rig-killer and benchmark platform. The expansion to the original is awesome. What more do you want? I think there should be a TROLL smiley, like the smiley holding up a sign that says TROLL.

He told me that the PC graphics of Crysis 2 ARE going to be worse than the graphics of the orginal Crysis.
The only reason for this is because of the port for consoles. I was told it was a necessary sacrafice they had to make since they are moving away from being PC-exclusive.

Even though Crytek knows they will lose a large community of the PC gamers, they are expecting a lot of success with the port to consoles.
In the end it adds up to the ultimate sacrafice of, well, making the PC graphics worse.
Essentially Crytek is moving away from the PC gaming community to the more profitable console gaming community.

There you go, there's the clean cut answer about Crysis 2's graphics.
OMG Stop the press!!!!

People have been talking about this for months

Guys, this isn't a "troll" thread. And continuing to say I'm lying isn't going to help anyone.

I'm just informing you on what I've been told.
I have no idea if this information is accuuate, but this is what my friend told me. And he's the one designing the game.

I am aware that it is not a port TO the PC, but the graphics of the PC and console versions had to be at roughly the same level. Remember, the game has to be optimized to run on both consoles and PCs while keeping the quality the same. Since the graphics hardware of consoles can't keep up, Crytek's only choice was to make the PC graphics worse.
However, this is still achievable while incorporating DX11 features.

What a previous poster said was correct, when a game goes multiplatform there is going to be a sacrafice in terms of graphics.

I don't know if the OP is telling the truth or not, but from the screenshots I've seen of Crysis 2 the graphics do look less than impressive.

I don't have any further proof.
As said, I don't know how accurate this information is.
I'm just restating what I'm been told from a game developer.

Though for proof of the crappy graphics, they can easily be found online or even here on OCN.

I'm not saying you're a liar but we need some proof.

Even though... I've seen the gameplay videos, the blurry screenshots with low resolution textures and the "testers" that always play the game on xbox (to appeal to that community and leave the others wondering).

this is totally believable behavior and something we see all the time. It's called monetary corruption.

Thing is, I don't recall ever seeing a PC screenshots, all we've seen are console ones. While I'm not doubting that you could be right, it's gonna be on the difficult side when the only proof is what your friend told you
