The first answerer in that thread really convinced me to go for the OC version.
Check it out.
An extra 65mhz overclock won't make or break your card. People have been consistently getting nice overclocks with even regular cards. Capwn got some ridiculous clocks and he's right here in this thread. Ask him which he'd rather have.

As for the capacitor whine EVGA is not immune. My card whines when using Furmark Extreme Burn but not in games. It's liable to happen. It's not Asus's fault, blame Nvidia. These are after all reference cards for the time being.

You based your GPU purchase off of someone with the online handle of "ExtremeGrandpa" ?? First mistake..
Second Its been basically proven that there is next to NO binning in gpus. Unless your buying the Calibre', Or Hydro Copper, Or any other "build for overclocking" card..
As for the SC cards, Its just a different bios,, EVGA has admitted they don't have the time or manpower to bin every one of those cards..

Also for the record my Vanilla 570 does 1010 mhz... Explain to me why this wasnt good enough to be a SC card?? Proof no binning happened. lol

Thread Starter
Ok so for a little update....Got my new EVGA 570GTX...(The last one on Newegg.com Friday..Sorry Guys)......

Anyways...Got it installed and no whine under folding load...So happy that I took the time to RMA this...

Anyway...So far I have my card running at 800/1600 core/shader and 1950 for mem clock...

My temps under full load with the fan at 70% is 64C. So as long as I can keep this thing stable I have plenty of room as far as temps go...

A bit late now but from now on I'm forking over the extra 10-20 dollars for factory OC cards. I bought a vanilla 570, it overclocked great, then it died. Sent it back and the replacement can't even run the EVGA SC speeds at any voltage or fan speed. Getting something this crappy is more of the exception than the rule, but when you have luck as awful as mine it's something to keep in mind.
