Hey guys i'm thinking of overclocking my E8400 but i want to know what is a good Frequency that i should overclock to because i use my Pc everday maybe like whole day because i game alot.

You can hit 3.6GHz on that rig EASY..

For higher than that you need RAM that can do at least 900MHz..

Mabe your RAM can do more than stock 800MHz..

For 4GHz on that system (445MHz FSB x 9 CPU multiplier) your RAM needs to be capable of 890MHz..

Click on P5Q Pro Turbo club in my sig and there you can find a lot of users that have same rigs as you and you can get a lot of settings templates for OCing just by reading revious posts..

Ram severely limits the ability for high clocks (as I found out when issues with ram kept me from going higher despite great temps and low voltages)

Disable C1E ;SpeedStep and all CPU functions in CPU Configuration meni and manually set CPU multiplier to 9x..
