low fps in games! -sapphire 6850-

Hello everybody,
Today, I’m feeling totaly desperate because I don’t know what to do about the problem I’m encountering with my new PC. When I run games on it, I have pretty disappointing FPS and that’s a real problem when you have a (sapphire) radeon hd6850 which is supposed to be a card with good performance.
(I play all my games in 1680*1050)
When I play crysis for instance, I only get 25 fps average and I sometimes get less than 20 fps when there is action going on. And I patched the game though.
And it is not the only game, in "splinter cell conviction" I often get my fps in the 20es. And thats not normal at all when I read the benchmarks on the internet!

http://www.techspot.com/review/325-a...870/page8.html

Same thing for battlefield bad company 2, I sometimes get approx. 20 FPS; that’ s not normal at all!!!
I tried several times to change the card drivers but no improvement. The driver I’m using currently is up to date. It is the 8.801 and catalyst is 10.12
I have run a 3DMark test (v1.0.2 in trial mode) and here are my results:

Please, HELP!!!!!

-GIGABYTE 880GA-UD3H

-SAPPHIRE radeon hd 6850

I have heard the drivers can be iffy... I dont know much about the video cards right now, but I would guess its underpowered (PSU too small)...

I think you need a more powerful power supply for that video card. Also, your video card is not on the list of benchmarks that you provided.

Actually I would call that normal. I don't know about Crysis, but conviction runs like s*** for me, and I have a 5850 which is a little more powerful than the 6850.

just something to check. I had issues with my cata drivers, because they have options for stuff like forced AA and all that. a lot of games dont play friendly if you have that stuff turned on. see if its set to application controlled.

I don't think it is because of the power supply. 500 W is really enough for the entire PC

Ouch, is your card overclocked at all??

That PSU is AWFUL, you could be pulling too much from it?

Is anything in your rig overclocked?

That PSU doesn't put out 500w...it's a way overrated PSU.
