Gt 240

Thread Starter
Hello, I have a question. An acquaintance wants to upgrade from his onboard graphics to a Nvidia GT 240 for World Of Warcraft but only has a 250 watt PSU.

His specs are as followed:

Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ Stock 2.93GHz
4GB of DDR2 800
Intel G31 Chipset Motherboard

Was wondering if it'd be cutting it close or if it'd be safe.

Link to the PSU essentially:

GT 240 Link: (69 Watts)

Edit: His case is slimline

He'll be fine.

For the same price, an HD5670 is faster and less power hungry than the GT240 though.

Looking at the card choice and PSU. Looks like he's trying to do this on the cheap.

Since the OP's acquaintance has a TFX power supply, I'd guess that he has a slim case as well.
Those ATX PSUs won't fit if he does.

Slim cases also mean a low profile card (half height) will be needed.
This is a half height card. (Half height is not the same as single slot)
