New Xbox 360 DVD drive Help

Thread Starter
So my 360 DVD drive broke and it had a hitachi GDR-3120l rom ver: 78fk drive, so I ordererd another one, but the problem is this drive is rom ver: 46dg. I was wondering if I could swap out the key from my old one to the new one, would this work? I have swapped keys before but they were the same rom version.

Thanks

Yes this would work, you would have to obtain the orig fw of the 46dg though to spoof.

no need to remove the board. you would need to extract the key from the original drive using jungleflasher and a connectivity kit. you would then put that key on the replacement drive and spoof that as your old hitachi.

you would need to buy hardware (~$75 worth) in order to extract/write the dvd keys so it might be easier and cheaper to pay someone who knows how to do it.

$75 worth of hardware? What do you mean.
I just did this with my Hitachi also.
Its a 79Fl, so I bought a used 79FL, since the motor/lens on mine is done.
Extracted key from my Hitachi & just spoofed it onto the other one.
Jungleflasher is the program & they also have a tutorial.

Make sure you flash to latest Ixtreme, which is LT.
Then the last step is to spoof the drive with the old key.

I'm def not a professional, so use the info I posted at your own risk.
I just followed what the tutorial said.
Hope that helps.
