Well it's stable so far and the temps are just fine without the 470's heating up everything. I've been able to cut the TPF from 33:40 to 32:32 with that increase .

I just put my 2600k rig together last night. I will do all my updates and start tweaking tonight. Im still confused by the new bios. I hope to be folding by tomorrow or Sat at the latest. Will see if I can get 40k PPD with this chip while using 3 Fermi cards and the 8800GT.

maybe you just need some better fans? what are you using?

i got a single rx360 w/ GT's and running my 2600k + 570 just fine, although your 860 probably puts out more heat than the 2600k

i'm at ~60c cpu and ~40c gpu

good luck with the OC, hope you got a nice chip, let us know the results

btw, if you guys have any dedicated folding rigs, i'd suggest trying dual-boot ubuntu... i got a nice PPD increase on my X6 when i switched to native ubuntu 10.10 instead of running vmware in windows 7.. about 2-3k

i also think it helped OC/stability.... before on windows 7, i had to run 1.54v to get 4.3ghz stable, now i can do 1.52v in ubuntu

Im thinking of later this year using my antec 900 case for a dedicated bigadv with my competition GPU card. Maybe I can get a cheap 2500k setup. Another option I got is to get the dual mother board backplate option on my MM case.

that's exactly what i did, took my old 900 and threw in the X6

2500k sounds good, i think 2500k and x6 gets about the same PPD on bigadv, but you need better cooling for the X6, but then again, P67's are a bit more expensive than 890FX so it evens out in the end

4.3ghz 1090t = 29-30k

4.5ghz 2500k = 25-26k

5ghz 2500k can probably break 30k in native ubuntu

i want another dedicated rig too, but with bulldozer coming out relatively soon i might wait a few month

my current ripjaws doesnt seem to play well with my cpu/mobo (it takes me 1.65v to run the rated 1.5v specs of 1600 9-9-9-24 )

just ordered a set of these, hope i have better luck

I'm working on a 2685 and I'm getting about 32.2k PPD. Not sure what I'd get on a 6900 yet. Plus I've discovered a strange rumbling sound from inside my case. Sounds like one of my fans might need to be tightened up.
