I like it as well but that little 30mm fan or whatever has got to be either loud or push less air than a breathing two year old.

It doesn't really need to move torrents of air, but yea I would also wager that it's louder than I'd like.

Rig had a reboot after ~6h 6904 folding at 5g/1866. Bumped VCCIO. That's the main trouble with Linux, it doesn't BSOD so I can't figure what's gone wrong.

But while it was going it did 62:40 TPF on the 6904, which I like. ~63:30 with 1600 mem.

Im almost sure the 40mm fans wont be too loud. At least not loud enough that you can hear them over my Slipstream and gpu fans.

Thats a good tpf Arvi. You prolly gonna have to slowly increase vcore until it stops bsoding. I just got one question. Why are you not running 2133mhz ram? Slacker! redface.gif That might get you into the 61 min tpf or very close to it.

I couldnt get my 3770k stable on 4.7 @ 1.32v.. So I knocked it down to 4.6 @ 1.28v and ran prime for an hour.. Windows closed and the other computer running right next to it.. Temps hit 96c..Which on the SB windows closed and both comps on.. I saw it hit 81c folding.. So add another 3c for Prime? This was also before I put in my new 120rad which dropped it atleast 3c off max

Ivy bridge is still 10c+ hotter and 200mhz less.. Couldnt get it to fold.. Probably need to load a new image on VM.. we will try in a day or 2 on that..

So far it looks like its going back tho.. My room is horrible for heat and I dont think the IB will be worth the headache..

Wow that's quite the tail of how Ivy isn't right for folding. I'd think some serious firepower would be needed to maintain such a chip. What's the max voltage on Ivy? I mean, they could do really well if the heat is contained.

Nice James, you got that IB running. But it sure runs hot.

BSODing is a little harder to achieve in Linux, but I do understand what you mean... Hopefully I won't have to push much higher as I already is running pretty high (yea, my 2500K is fed in excess (I think) of 1.5V).

tongue.gif The real question is why I don't run 2400MHz, my mobo supports it (or maybe it was the Z68, one of them do).

Been running at the above settings for the last twelve frames, avg TPF actually dropped to 62:06 (88k PPD potentially) on those. The frames vary from 62:10 to 62:02 so they are much closer than before the VCCIO bump. thumb.gif

Wonder what it would take to run an even 60min TPF. Still haven't pushed this past 50x multi. thinking.gif

I giggled.

My Z77 board supports some really high frequencies!

Put some of these in there.
