I didn't disable the 2nd GPU from folding but what has occurred since finding my highest OCing GPU and disabling Crossfire earlier today is that my OC'd TC GPU is getting a lil bit more PPD, 7.5k, my other GPU dropped to 900 and the CPU jumped from 1.8k to around 7.5k. No other changes made. The very odd bit is that the low PPD gpu is running at 100% but only at 100 core and 150 mem. Overall I am happy with the overall GPU PPD for the upcoming TC.

Its crashed... is that the card your monitor is pluged into? The AMD cards will always cycle between 99 and 95%. The only run at 100% if you force it to.

You may want to set that card back to stock. Quit and restart the Fan client and see if it does it again.

The monitor is plugged into the OC'd GPU. So I plugged my monitor into the other card and the GPU core and mem went back to normal. I have multiple inputs on my monitor so I have them both plugged in and will monitor the ppd effects on the TC GPU. If it goes down on the TC GPU, I'll unplug the non TC GPU from the monitor and leave it at that.

When I ran a Radeon and Geforce card together I had to have a monitor/dummy plug plugged in to the Radeon to get it to fold, but I think it was good once the WU has started.

Majorhi, I think it's a good idea to open up a thread in the folding @ home forum about optimizing your TC GPU, and figuring out why your PPD sinks on that 2nd GPU. Is there a switch on those GPU's you have to slide for crossfire/non-crossfire?

 

Another thing... When you turn off crossfire, have you tried unplugging the bridge? I know your PPD is about where it should be per a few other posts in here, but every little bit more you can get helps your team as long as it does not cause you to become unstable.

Shouldn't need to go through all that trouble. I'm using v7, is the only card in the rig and monitor is plugged into it, Windows 7 graphics is at its default, and I still get ~8100 PPD on my 6850.
