Hi guys nice to be folding for a team again, started about 5 minutes ago, no idea if its registering properly yet so any updates on that would be appreciated. Currently saying around 7800 PPD estimated, looking to fold 24/7 if possible, though could do with sorting out my CPU temps at the moment, will it lower my PPD for the 6870 if i revert back to stock on the CPU?
Thanks, Rob

Hi Rob,
As long as your folding name and passkey are correct on the client every thing will be fine. You can run your cpu at stock and should not affect the gpu ppd as long as it has 1 core available for the gpu.

I'm trying to figure that out myself.  It seems v7 if you can get the 70xx WUs.

It seems that if you can be stable the native w/ v6.34 WUs are still the way to go. The problem I have noticed with the a4 WUs is there is such a large variation. If you can get a string of 70**s you can out run the folks on nix setups. But when you start getting the 80**s they only pull ~30k a day.

Yeah, there seems be a good 20k PPD fluctuation depending on the WU for v7, at least for me at this point.  It's like a roller coaster.

Reverted back to stock on CPU, GPU still overclocked, altered fan settings and it seems to be folding silently now with the same PPD, should bode well for me maintaining this at uni.
Will I be added to the front page?
Thanks

This is exactly the reason I don't run v7, some units are really good, but some cut the PPD in half (or worse).

My TC rig has been stable all of this month [finds some piece of wood to knock]. We had a pretty toasty weekend though, and my AMD temp rig were in a sunlit room with no curtains and mostly closed windows (and the OC was just sat on whim). rolleyes.gif

Welcome! For a 2500K I'd guess the PPD on the GPU would be pretty similar stock or OC'd CPU.

You can run v7 in Linux too you know, but I'd still stick to v6 and Linux.
