v7 helped me to get into 3rd. wheee.gif
Not getting the same luck with WU's as elchucko though, but about 5-6k PPD more these last two days than running v6.

As rabbit states, especially the '97 and '98 are low. But that could be the fact that you used the computer during those units. What I wanna now first of all, what TPF do you get when you leave it alone? Usage will always affect PPD.

As for the terrible slowdown when browsing, have you tried any other browser than Chrome, Firefox is really nice these days (no, I'm not biased...).

The frames you see in the screen shot are what I get when it sits several hours. I dont use the pc much, maybe a half hour total each day. I will try to use firefox and see if that helps. The ppd ive been getting lately are abough what i was getting in Windows 7 with vm. Should I fire up Windows and vm and see if it improves? I havent tried it since the new ram. Or should I try v7? Somethings just not right and im not happy.

At the main window of HFM, press ctrl+B, this will show the current TPF (and a few more TPF's) on the current unit. The work unit history (which won't work on my setup :/) shows completed WU's.

Does it work at ful power? Type top in a terminal, thekraken-FahCo should show ~400%. Do you run at 4.8GHz? i7z will show the current freq when you run it.

I think I found the problem, but I don't know what to do about it. thekraken is at 400% but i7z only shows me at 4.45 ghz, but in the bios it set to 4.8 ghz and in Windows 7 in cpuz and core temp I'm showing 4.8 ghz. Why is it not running at full clock in Ubuntu and how can I fix it.



It must have been at full clock the day i got the 27k+ ppd

Loos like that would be the issue. What are your temps like (expand that terminal window a bit to the right and it should show up)? Have you increased current/wattage limit (or what it's called, goes up to 140% on my boards anyway) in the BIOS?

temps are no higher then 67-70c. I donlt see a setting for current limit but overvoltage is enabled, and eist and c1E are disabled

here are my current bios settings. I recently reset everything so maybe I missed something

It must b a bios setting i missed because it actually is throttling down to 4.5 in windows 7

Update: ive gone through thebios a dozen times and cant seem to find the cause of theproblem. It looks like it intially goes 4.8 ghz then it quickly drops to 4.5

i dont know what i did but its back to 4.8 in ubuntu and ill know in a few hours if the ppd is back up. All i did was rest bios to factory and entered in all the settings 1 buy 1 and it worked. Boy this computer is driving me nuts lol. Im not touching anymore settings

Update: its up to 26400 and climbing on the 6097 so its getting back to normal
